Resident Services at Clatsop Care

Activities
Our facility offers a wide range of activities and social functions to encourage personal growth and enrichment, physical activity and socialization. A schedule of this month's activities can be found on each floor by the nurses' station, to see a current activity calendar, click ( here ).
Beauty Services
Appointments for haircuts, shampoos and sets, or perms can be made at the front desk. Our beauty shop is located on the first floor and our licensed beautician will be happy to see you by appointment.
Laundry Services
As a convenience to you and your family members, we offer personal laundry services. If you choose to use this service, please make sure that your clothing items are clearly marked with your name in permanent ink. The clothing tags are often a good, inconspicuous place to mark clothing items.
Physician Services
Your health care plan is directed by your personal physician or his/her designee. In addition, our medical director coordinates Clatsop Care Center's medical services including routine and emergency care.
Dental Services
We will assist you in obtaining routine and emergency dental care, including making appointments and arranging transportation to and from the dental office of your choice.
Nursing Services
Clatsop Care Center is staffed by registered, licensed, and certified nursing personnel. The Director of Nursing and Resident Care Manager are available during normal business hours and there is a charge nurse available 24 hours a day to answer your questions or direct you to appropriate personnel.
Housekeeping and Maintenance Services
For your safety and comfort and for a clean and pleasant environment, Clatsop Care Center provides both housekeeping and maintenance services.
Dining Services
The dietary department provides meals designed to meet your particular nutritional needs. We encourage you to eat your meals in the dining room, however, room service is also available. Your visitors are welcome to join you for meals at a nominal fee. Visitor's meals can be ordered at the front desk.

Pharmacy Services
In addition to obtaining and administering the drugs ordered by your physician, Clatsop Care Center also provides monthly review of your medications by a registered pharmacist. Clatsop Care contracts with NPN/Evergreen Pharmacy for pharmaceutical services, but each resident is allowed to use his or her pharmacy of choice, provided the pharmacy can meet applicable regulations for distribution.
Telephone Service
Telephones and service are provided only in our short-tem unit. Hookups, but not service, are available in other units. Residents may have phone service by arranging for connection with Qwest Communications at 1-800-244-1111. Note: Bills are sent directly to resident/sponsor by Qwest.
Cable TV. Service
Televisions are not routinely provided. One basic cable hook-up is available in each room. For services beyond basic cable, contact Charter Cable. If bringing a television from home, we ask that it be labeled with the resident's name.
Podiatry Service
Clatsop Care Center staff will provide routine podiatry care. For additional services, either by a licensed Beautician or Physician, staff will assist the resident/sponsor to arrange for appropriate service.
Other Services
In addition to the above, you may receive a variety of additional services which may include podiatry care, ophthalmology services, audiology services, laboratory services, or X-ray and other diagnostic services. This facility will also provide, at your request, financial services including managing personal funds, disbursements from personal funds and managing income checks.
Social Services
Our Social Services Department continually assesses the social and emotional needs of all our residents, beginning with admission and continuing through the entire stay. The Social Services Department is available to assist you and your family in obtaining needed services and resources.
Therapy Services/Rehabilitation Services
Clatsop Care Center provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy under the written order of your physician. Our restorative aides continue with rehabilitation services when appropriate.
