Clatsop Care to offer FREE Certified Nursing Assistant training classes

Community Healthcare Organization, Clatsop Care Health & Rehabilitation (Skilled Nursing Facility), Creating a Solution for CNA Training Shortage in Clatsop County

 ASTORIA, OR – November 21, 2023 – Clatsop Care Center Health District (CCCHD) will soon begin providing in-house Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training starting Mid-December.  CCHD has long collaborated with the Clatsop Community College (CCC) nursing program to provide students with scholarships and financial support to attend the CNA course, and to host the clinical training for the nursing and CNA courses. Currently CCC offers a CNA course during the summer. CCHD will offer opportunities for CNA classes during the months in which CCC is not offering the program. Clatsop Care Health & Rehabilitation (CCHR) is offering up to ten (10) local applicants the opportunity to join the healthcare profession.  Upon completion of the program with a passing the testing, immediate job placement is available. As part of the program, CCHD will provide comprehensive instruction and practical training, and cover the cost of all class materials, including required licensure fees. All those who successfully complete the course will be offered employment opportunities. CCHD currently supports employees in their professional development and degree pursuits through advancement training opportunities.
